The 1975 Announce Rescheduled 2021 Date For Finsbury Park Show
“The greenest show Finsbury Park has ever seen” will now take place on 10 July next year.
The 1975 have announced the rescheduled date for their huge Finsbury Park show next year, after it was postponed due to coronavirus.
Billed as “the greenest show Finsbury Park has ever seen”, the band was originally set to headline the one-day event at the London park location on 11 July. An impressive supporting bill for the show featured the likes of Charli XCX, Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers, Pale Waves and Beabadoobee. Now, it’s been confirmed that the show will take place on 10 July 2021, almost a year from the date of the original show.
In a statement, The 1975’s record label Dirty Hit said, “We found a date that works for Finsbury Park for July 2021. If you have a ticket for the cancelled July 2020 show your ticket agent will be in touch – you can have either a refund for your July 2020 ticket or you can transfer to a ticket for July 2021.”
They added that “full details” will be sent to ticket-holders via email later today. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the same supporting bill of artists will also return for the 2021 show.
The 1975 will now release their latest album, Notes On A Conditional Form, on 22 May via Dirty Hit/Polydor Records. They have shared a half dozen singles from the LP so far, including ‘People,’ ‘Frail State of Mind,’ ‘Me & You Together Song,’ ‘The Birthday Party,’ ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America,’ and most recently ‘If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know).’
Last week, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy also launched a podcast in partnership with The Face magazine. The podcast’s first episode featuring Brian Eno dropped on Tuesday, 5 May at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Future episodes of the podcast will feature Healy in conversation with other musical guests, including Stevie Nicks, Kim Gordon, Steve Reich, Conor Oberst, Mike Kinsella of American Football, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream and more.
