A platinum Grammy-winner
‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!’ written by Twain and her then-husband and producer Robert John ‘Mutt’ Lange, was released as the eighth single in North America from the phenomenon that was Come On Over. Although it only reached No. 23 on Billboard‘s Hot 100, it went on to be certified platinum by the RIAA. It was a No. 4 country hit and won the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
The song became an even bigger success internationally. In the UK, where it also went platinum, ‘Man!…’ became the second single in a row from the album to peak at No. 3, representing her highest-ever rankings on that chart.
In April, Twain took part in the all-star ACM Presents: Our Country special. The two-hour show, featured at-home performances by such major country names as Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley and Florida Georgia Line. Shania’s acoustic cameo was filmed outside her stable with her blonde horse and her dog.
In recent days, Twain’s social media posts in lockdown have reflected the quiet, rural life she is currently living. “One thing I’m really enjoying is not having to wear a different outfit every day,” she wrote, while another post depicted her with her horses, as she mused: “They don’t watch the news…”
