Guns N’ Roses To Release New Children’s Book ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’
The book was inspired by the adventures of Maya and Natalia Rose, daughter and niece of GNR’s longtime manager Fernando Lebeis.
Get ready for a rock’n’roll-inspired bedtime story, as Guns N’ Roses have announced their first children’s book fittingly titled, Sweet Child O’Mine, arriving on 1 September.
Created in collaboration with acclaimed author James Patterson, Sweet Child O’ Mine takes its inspiration from the lyrics of the hit GNR song of the same name and reimagines them into an illustrated children’s story.
“As a longtime fan of Guns N’ Roses, I’m thrilled to partner with the band in bringing their famed hit song to life on the page,” Patterson shared in a press statement.
“Sweet Child O’Mine is a story that I know kids will love reading and that parents will love singing along to,” he added.
The book was inspired by the adventures of Maya and Natalia Rose, daughter and niece of GNR’s longtime manager Fernando Lebeis, who both grew up touring with the band.
“My sister and I have been lucky to be able to watch our daughters – Maya and Natalia Rose – grow up while touring with the guys (the band),” shared Lebeis in a statement.
“We ourselves have been part of the “Guns family” for over 30 years … being able to bring this into a children’s print book is truly special and a fun milestone in our lives,” he added.

The lovely illustrations were done by Jennifer Zivion, a respected children’s book illustrator who has worked on many stories, including the Pirate School series and the Lily series.
“Follow a child’s wondrous discovery that music is everywhere around us – from the gentle wind blowing through the bluest skies, to the fearful crash of the thunder and the rain,” reads the official book synopsis.
Like many artists these days, Guns N’ Roses had to reschedule their touring dates due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The band announced the rescheduled dates for their recently postponed Central and South American tour which was originally slated to take place in March and April.
The new shows will now take place in November and December 2020, with all original tickets honoured for the rescheduled dates.
Sweet Child O’Mine will be available at major retailers on 1 September in hardcover and e-book formats and is available for pre-order here.
