BTS Postpone US Tour Due To Coronavirus; Join Guest Stars On James Corden’s ‘Homefest’
‘Homefest’ will also feature contributions from Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Andrea Bocelli.
BTS have announced they are rescheduling their forthcoming North American tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, but they have joined the guest stars set to appear on James Corden’s special Late Late Show spin-off ‘Homefest’.
The K-Pop giants were set to begin their 37-date ‘Map of the Soul’ tour on April 25 and 26 with two nights at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, before winding up with shows at Chicago’s Soldier Field on 5 and 6 June.
But after cancelling the start of their tour in South Korea, they have now postponed the U.S. shows as a direct result of the pandemic. Current tickets will be honoured for the new dates, but the band’s management team Big Hit Entertainment are yet to confirm these. At the time of writing, their UK shows remain unaffected.
Earlier this week, BTS announced they’re launching a new web series to help fans learn Korean. They will host 30 lessons on social media app Weverse, which began earlier this week. In a statement, Big Hit Entertainment said each lesson is “designed to make it easy and fun for global fans who have difficulty enjoying BTS’ music and contents due to the language barrier.”
Also in BTS news, the K-Pop stars and John Legend are among the stars to join James Corden’s ‘Homefest’: Late Late Show. Corden will host the special episode, titled ‘Homefest’, from his garage where he will be chatting with some of the biggest names in music and entertainment.
Billie Eilish will perform alongside her brother Finneas from their homes in Los Angeles, while Dua Lipa will give an intimate performance from London. And if that wasn’t enough of a treat already, Andrea Bocelli will sing from his house in Tuscany.
David Blaine and Will Ferrell will also be joining in on the fun and a whole load more are still to be announced. There will also be information on how audiences can donate to charities Feed The Children and the CDC Foundation.
Late Late Show executive producers Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe addressed the special episode in a joint statement, and said: “Since The Late Late Show came off the air, we have been thinking of different ways to try and make a show at this time.”
