As her first solo pop single in nearly three years, it appears Lady Gaga is ready to deliver new music in 2020 after announcing she was “pregnant” with new music at the top of 2019, following rumours.
The pop icon tweeted a photo of a billboard that appears to be the new single artwork, along with the caption: “Stupid Love The New Single By Lady Gaga Out Friday At Midnight ET #LG6”.

While no official album title has been confirmed, the teaser image for ‘Stupid Love’ references the word “Chromatica,” which fans have assumed is the potential title for LG6, as the album has been referred to thus far.
Before Gaga’s official announcement, a version of the single leaked online, as well as an image of the singer’s iPod playing a song with a similar title on social media. Whether ‘Stupid Love’ is an official single off her forthcoming album or just a one-off, is still up for speculation.
The singer previously confirmed to Entertainment Weekly in August 2017 that she had begun work on a new album.
“I’ve started writing,” Gaga told the outlet. “I have a lot of ideas and a lot of things I want to create, so you’ll see in a bit. I need some time to create.”
‘Stupid Love’ comes on the heels of the most successful periods of Gaga’s career, following two sold-out Las Vegas residencies, three Grammy Awards, her first Academy Award for her star-making turn in A Star Is Born and becoming the first woman to earn five No.1 albums this decade.
She also notched her first No.1 single in the US since 2011 with the big hit off A Star Is Born soundtrack, ‘Shallow’.
Recently ‘Shallow’ is back on the charts after a clip of a woman singing a part of the song at a London tube station has gone viral. As part of the ‘Finish The Lyrics’ social challenge by British comedian/social media stuntman Kevin Freshwater, the woman broke out into song and blew away the comedian with her performance.
Lady Gaga’s last studio album was Joanne in 2016, which saw the singer distance herself from the kind of high art pop maximalism that defined her early career.
