Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band are hitting the road this spring with special guests The Avett Brothers and former All-Star member, Edgar Winter.
Joining him will be the current All-Star Band line-up featuring Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart. The tour will kick off on 29 May at Casino Rama in Rama Ontario and will include a mini residency at New York’s Beacon Theater and three tour dates with Americana legends, The Avett Brothers, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor Maine, at Boston’s Boch Center Wang Theatre and at the Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire. Former All Starr Edgar Winter will also be the supporting act for two shows in St Augustine and Clearwater, Florida
The tour announcement comes on the heels of the release of Ringo’s 20th studio record, What’s My Name, that includes the rousing title track, written by All Starr member Colin Hay.
The record is another All Starr affair, with Ringo inviting a rotating cast of A-list guests to play and contribute to the record including Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter, Dave Stewart, Benmont Tench, Steve Lukather, Nathan East, Richard Page, Warren Ham, Windy Wagner, Kari Kimmel and most notably, Paul McCartney who appears on Ringo’s cover of John Lennon’s song, ‘Grow Old With Me’.
The former Beatle also just celebrated the launch of his book, Another Day In The Life, that follows the sell-out success of Postcards From The Boys (2003) and Photograph (2013), and features previously unpublished collection of his photographs, captioned with his own thoughts and anecdotes.
