Catfish And The Bottlemen Share Music Video For ‘Conversation’
Like cycling slides through a viewfinder, the video paints an intimate behind-the-scenes look at one of Britain’s most buzzworthy acts.
Welsh indie-rock outfit, Catfish and the Bottlemen have shared a new visual for their latest single ‘Conversation’, off their new album, The Balance.
The clever visual features previously unseen candid images of the band in the studio, on the road and enjoying down time through a collage of animated contact sheets. Like cycling slides through a viewfinder, the video paints an intimate behind-the-scenes look at one of Britain’s most buzzworthy acts.
Eschewing their usual black and white aesthetic, these snapshots are washed with swaths of colour, making them pop on screen.
The animated short was produced Trunk Animation, who also created the new animated promo for The Beatles’ ‘Glass Onion.
‘The Conversation’ is the fourth single of the band’s third studio album The Balance, following the previously released tracks, ‘Longshot’, ‘Fluctuate’ and ‘2all’. ‘The Longshot’ reached No.25 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the group’s highest charting single to date.
Following their 2016 sophomore release The Ride, which went to No.1 in the UK, fans and critics were highly anticipating the indie heroes’ third studio effort. Helmed by legendary producer Jacknife Lee (who’s worked with everyone from the Cars, U2, R.E.M., the Killers and Taylor Swift) the band secluded themselves in two different studios, first Grouse Lodge in Moate, Republic of Ireland, followed by The Chapelin the countryside of East Lincolnshire, over the span of 12 months.
Following the release of The Balance on 26 April 2019, Catfish And The Bottlemen announced their headlining world tour. Following a string of nationwide sell outs, the band revealed additional UK dates including two Scottish shows at Aberdeen’s brand-new venue P&J Live and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro this autumn.
The band is currently in Australia before they head to Ireland to play the Indie 19 Festival in Cork this month, followed by the London’s O2.
