Watch The Video For Rammstein’s New Single, ‘Ausländer’
‘Rammstein’ recently landed at Number 3 on the official UK album charts, making them the first German-speaking band to ever achieve an official UK Top 10 album.
Rammstein have shared the official video for their new single, ‘Ausländer’, directed by Jörn Heitmann, which you can check out below.
The band have been teasing the video’s arrival during the day, with a short, 15-second video which depicted the band out at sea on a small dinghy, paddling towards a distant shoreline.
‘Ausländer’ is the third video taken from Rammstein’s newly released self-titled album, which is out now on Spinefarm Records in the UK and Caroline International in the US. The band have previously shared promos for the tracks ‘Deutschland’ and ‘Radio.’
Metal Hammer recently broke down each track from the follow-up to 2009’s Liebe ist für alle da, and described Ausländer (German for “foreigners”) as “a delirium-inducing club banger that wouldn’t feel out of place as a slightly left-field entry at the Eurovision Song Contest.”
They said: “The video – this will be a single, surely? – will be nuts, and it’s going to be an absolute monster live. With all those overtly cheesy keyboard stabs, you can hear echoes of fellow Neue Deutsche Härte travellers Oomph! in the music.”
Rammstein was produced by Olsen Involtini with Rammstein and was mixed at a Santa Monica, California studio with Rich Costey, an American producer who has previously worked with Muse, Rage Against The Machine and Franz Ferdinand, among others.
As uDiscover Music reported last Friday evening, Rammstein landed at Number 3 on the official UK album charts, making them the first German-speaking band to ever achieve an official UK Top 10 album.
Meanwhile, in Germany, the band are enjoying further Top 10 success. Rammstein has sold in excess of 265,000 records, the best first week sales for any rock album this century in the country. The new 11-track studio offering is the 10th No.1 record for the band in Germany and – at the time of writing – 8 Rammstein albums currently sit in the German Top 100 charts.
The band’s run of European stadium and arena shows kicked off last night, Monday, 27 May in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and are due to conclude on 23 August in Vienna, Austria.
