Rammstein Drop The Video For Their New Single, ‘Radio’
The memorable black and white clip was directed by filmmaker Jörn Heitmann.
As anticipation for Rammstein’s first album in a decade nears fever pitch, the industrial metal icons have dropped the official video for their new single ‘Radio’, which you can check out below.
The band had been teasing the memorable, black and white video directed by Jörn Heitmann, with a cryptic trailer featuring serious-looking gentlemen at work in a mysterious recording studio. This first appeared as an Instagram story posted to the band’s official account.
The ‘Radio’ clip shows a troop of soldiers marching to the song’s martial guitar riff before cutting to footage the band dressed snazzily in sharp tuxedos and shredding away at their instruments.
Prior to ‘Radio’, German outfit shared a promo for ‘Deutschland’ last month and, earlier this week, teased another five tracks from their upcoming self-titled studio album, which is set to arrive on 17 May, via Spinefarm Records.
Speaking with Metal Hammer earlier this year about the follow-up to 2009’s Liebe ist für alle da, guitarist Richard Kruspe said: “We tried a lot of different things this time. Sometimes we felt like, ‘This could be an interesting song, even though maybe it’s not a ‘typical Rammstein song’.
“In music, there are thousands of ways to go, and sometimes it’s hard to say which ways are the right ones or wrong ones. There’s much more out there than our own ego.”
Elsewhere, in another interview with Guitar World, Kruspe and guitarist Paul Landers explained how the German metal icons are taking a total different approach on their new, self-titled album.
“It’s not too sterile, not too clean,” Lander said. “It has a lot of life and energy in it, but it’s not all angry. The music is more than that. It’s different for Rammstein. You might even say it’s fun to listen to.”
In support of their new album, Rammstein are on tour throughout 2019. The band will play their only UK gig at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes on 6 July.
