Beatles For TV Series?

Strong rumours emanating from the US suggest that NBC are in the initial stages of developing a TV drama series based around the career of The Beatles.

The programme would be written by Michael Hirst, previously the executive producer on the hit series he created, ‘The Tudors,’ according to a report in Deadline Hollywood. Ben Silverman and Teri Weinberg are said to be set to act as executive producers on the eight-part series. NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt commissioned ‘The Tudors’ when he ran the Showtime channel.

Older fans may remember the animated Beatles series aired by ABC from 1965 to 1967, when 48 episodes, each running some 18 minutes, were created across three original series.
