iLL BLU Team Up With James Morrison
House producers iLL BLU have teamed up with chart-topping British singer-songwriter James Morrison for their new single ‘Lonely People.’
iLL BLU, the duo of Darius and James, first emerged on the UK funk scene, with tracks like Princess Nyah’s ‘Frontline’, productions for Roll Deep and their remix of Shystie’s ‘Pull It’. Since then, they’ve remixed major hits for such artists as Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Cheryl and Jessie J.
The duo have also released tracks on such labels as Kerri Chandler’s MadTech, Jackmaster’s Numbers and Kode 9’s Hyperdub, helping them establish a sound that’s at the forefront of the underground house scene. They also have their own weekly radio show on Kiss Fresh.
Morrison’s guest appearance on ‘Lonely People’ heralds his return with his own new music later in 2015. The artist, from Rugby in Warwickshire, emerged in 2006 with the UK No. 1 album ‘Undiscovered,’ which included hits like ‘You Give Me Something’ and ‘Wonderful World.’
After a sophomore 2008 release, ‘Songs For You, Truths For Me’ (which included ‘You Make It Real’ and his duet with Nelly Furtado, ‘Broken Strings’) reached No. 3, Morrison returned to the top of the UK album chart with his third and most recent album ‘The Awakening.’ This included such singles as ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ and ‘Up.’
