Imagine Dragons’ Debut Album ‘Night Visions’ Set For Coloured Vinyl Reissue
The widely-acclaimed album won Billboard’s prestigious Top Rock Album Of The Year award in 2014.
Imagine Dragons’ widely acclaimed debut album, Night Visions, is set for reissue on special, limited edition opaque lavender vinyl. Released through Interscope Records, the new, 180g edition will be available from 22 February.
Night Visions was Imagine Dragons’ debut studio album and it originally appeared on 4 September 2012 in the US and on 26 March 2013 in the UK.
Produced mainly by the band themselves, as well as English hip-hop producer Alex Da Kid and Brandon Darner (The Envy), the album took three years to finish, with six of the album’s tracks being previously released on multiple EPs.
Debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 in the US, Night Visions moved 83,000 copies in its first week and ultimately winning Billboard’s Top Rock Album of 2014 award. The album became the fourth best-selling album of 2013 in the US and it was nominated for the Juno Award for International Album of the Year (2014) in Canada.
In support of Night Visions, Imagine Dragons embarked on the Night Visions world tour, Starting in February 2013, the 145-date tour saw the Las Vegas band perform across North America and Europe. With opening acts such as Señora Lanza. During the tour, the band made their first national television appearance, performing Night Visions’ signature hit ‘Radioactive’ on the February 22, 2013 airing of CBS late-night talk show Late Show With David Letterman.
Night Visions was also well received critically. Las Vegas Weekly praised the record for being “well-crafted and wildly creative, and boasts solid songwriting—three things that are sorely missing on albums by so many younger bands.”
The album has since been certified double Platinum, as well as appearing in the top ten albums in Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. The album’s trio of hits, ‘It’s Time’, ‘Radioactive’ and ‘Demons’ are also multi-million sellers.
