Ms. Ross’ first video in over a decade, it was directed by Amanda Demme in collaboration with her sons Evan Ross and Ross Naess.
Diana Ross has shared a teaser for the new music video for her song “All Is Well,” a track that will feature on her much-anticipated Thank You album, released this Friday (5).
The video, Ms. Ross’ first in over a decade, is directed by Amanda Demme in collaboration with her sons, Evan Ross as producer and Ross Naess (photography). Also freshly-revealed is the above new photograph of the star, which was captured at the video shoot.
The impending album is also marked by today’s (3) release of the new single from it, “I Still Believe,” which continues the record’s theme of love, hope, positivity and gratitude to Ms. Ross’ fans for her extraordinary career.
“My sons gave me the confidence and encouragement to make this video,” says the revered entertainer. “After spending almost two years not performing and not being in front of the camera, they supported me in easing back into being around lots of people. These three people really took care of me: Evan Ross (producer), Amanda Demme (director), Ross Naess (photography), and so many others. I am filled with appreciation for the work that they all did to make this happen.”
The Thank You album, her 25th studio set, was recorded in Ms. Ross’ home studio and contains entirely new and exclusive material and is dedicated to her audiences over the years. She explains that her love of singing kept her spirits high during these challenging recent times. “I spent the past year recording new music,” she says, “and this music is a reflection of the joy and the love and the gratitude that I feel every day. It’s an album of great appreciation for life, and for all of you.
“For me there was an urgency in making a meaningful album, working with what is happening now in our world,” she continues. “Through the power of music we are creating a new kind of conversation that supports our choices and the decisions that we make.”
The album showcases such irrepressible, upbeat numbers and dancefloor-fillers such as the title song and first single, as well as “Tomorrow” and the second single “If the World Just Danced.” That song literally had people around the world dancing together with a fan-led music video. The album also features tender ballads such as “Time To Call,” “Just In Case,” “The Answer’s Always Love,” and “Count On Me.”
Ms. Ross co-wrote and collaborated on all the tracks with such respected songwriters and producers as Jack Antonoff, Troy Miller, Triangle Park, Spike Stent, Prince Charlez, Amy Wadge, Neff-U, Freddie Wexler, Jimmy Napes, Tayla Parx, Fred White, and Nathanial Ledgewick.
