Catfish And The Bottlemen Single Coming
Catfish And The Bottlemen, the Welsh band whose remarkable rise in 2014 included a UK top ten album and winning the Best Newcomer title at the inaugural BBC Music Awards, will release a new single next month.
‘Kathleen,’ taken from the debut album ‘The Balcony,’ will be released by Communion/Island on February 9, after the band’s performance of the song at the awards. The track was written by band frontman Van McCann and follows their tracks ‘Cocoon,’ ‘Homesick,’ ‘Rango’ and ‘Pacifier,’ variously playlisted in the UK by BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and XFM. The album was released at the end of September and went straight to No. 10 in the UK.
‘Kathleen’ has already been a top 40 hit on alternative radio in the US, where the band are this week making their late night US network TV debut. Tomorrow night (January 7) they’ll be performing on ‘Late Night With David Letterman,’ (watch the performance below) before moving on to Australia and Japan. As they add to their reputation as one of Britain’s most rousing live attractions, Catfish And The Bottlemen will be back in the UK for a new tour in March and April, with the following dates:
