Chris Stapleton Declares ‘It Takes A Woman’ On Latest ‘Higher’ Taster

Chris Stapleton has shared “It Takes A Woman” as the latest taster of his fifth studio album Higher, which follows on November 10. It comes in the wake of “White Horse,” which came out with the album announcement in July, and the soul-flavored “Think I’m In Love With You,” which arrived last month.

Stapleton was performing “It Takes A Woman,” a slow love song, in live shows as long ago in 2013, and it will now take its place on the new set, which he produced with his wife Morgane and Dave Cobb. The album is out two days after the 2023 CMA Awards, at which he is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and for Musical Event of the Year (“We Don’t Fight Anymore” with Carly Pearce).
His All American Road Show continues across North America, its next stop in San Antonio, TX on October 19, with guests Charley Crockett and Nikki Lane. Holler’s review of Stapleton’s Stagecoach Festival show in April observed: “His voice is so fully embodied, his guitar playing so skilled, and his set list made up of on-their-way-to-being-standards that it’s hard to ask for more.”
Stapleton also recently announced a partnership with Filson on a collection of bags, named after his massively successful debut album of 2015. The Traveller collection includes an Outfitter bag, with room in the base for boots, a carry-on-friendly Duffel bag, a Dopp kit for essentials, a suit cover, and a drawcord Stowaway Backpack for extra gear.
